Our Findings
Established in 1897, the Godrej Group has its roots in India’s independence and Swadeshi movement. The company that grew as a locks business is today a large conglomerate that’s headquartered in Mumbai, and managed by the Godrej family. Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. is one of the largest players in the consumer electronics space in India and was also the first Indian company to manufacture refrigerators. Today, the company offers a wide range of electronic products that include air conditioners, refrigerators, microwave ovens, fans, washing machines and more.
Until recently Godrej heavily relied on China for its supplies. However, they claim that they have stopped importing or sourcing goods from China and are assembling their products locally. We recommend you choose Godrej, but only after checking the country of origin on the packaging.
