Asus means 'Eminence by the Chinese'
Year Established: 1989
Headquarters: Taipei, Taiwan
Parent: AsusTek Computer Inc,Taiwan
ASUS literally means “Eminence by the Chinese”, which is interesting because this company operates from Taiwan, a state that’s claimed, but not governed by the People’s Republic of China. ASUS’ smartphone market share has fallen drastically over the years, but ASUS has been releasing one-off smartphones in the flagship and gaming category of late. Whether the company takes a pro-China stance or cuts down its dependence on mainland China remains to be seen.
Don’t get us wrong, ASUS undoubtedly produces some of the better products out there and if you are ok with the Made in Taiwan tag, and maybe the occasional security issues, we don’t see any reason to say no to it.
